Dear Port Barre High Community, Families, and Town,

Thank you for all you do for our children. Each day, I welcome every student and remind them that they matter to the Port Barre staff. We are committed to giving them the best instruction and are working tirelessly to improve our campus and facilities for their benefit. As I’ve said since day one, "Our kids deserve better." I believe that deeply and hope my efforts reflect that belief.

I ask that you please read this message and use the millage calculator linked above and below for your convenience. The facts are clear: we are one of the lowest-taxing parishes in the state, and it has been 40 years since we last addressed a millage for our schools. I live here, I pay taxes here, and my children deserve more. Please review the information, consider the facts, and make the decision you feel is best — I will respect your choice.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this and for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Coach Mac

Class of 2026: A Final Farewell Tradition 👖✨

To our Senior Class,

As we approach the final weeks of your high school journey, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible legacy you are leaving behind at Port Barre High. You have shown resilience, leadership, and a spirit that has truly defined our halls.

To honor your hard work and to kick off our final countdown, we are excited to announce a special farewell gesture:

Starting tomorrow, all Seniors are officially permitted to wear their Senior Jeans every day until their final day on Wednesday, May 6th.

Whether your jeans are decorated with signatures from lifelong friends, painted with your future college logos, or adorned with "Class of ‘26" patches, we want you to wear them with pride. Let this be a daily reminder of the memories you’ve made and the bright futures that await you.

Please remember that while we are relaxing the dress code for this tradition, we ask that you continue to represent the Class of 2026 with the same excellence and respect you’ve shown all year.

Finish strong, stay focused, and let’s make these final days in denim unforgettable.

Sincerely,

Principal Nick L. McIntosh
